Europe Diaries
While in Spain and traveling around Europe, I resolved to a) illustrate more, and b) make gifs, because why not? They turned into a way to diary about the funny and/or eye-opening moments I had while in unfamiliar places. I experimented with many different styles of illustration and complexities of animation. I also shared these on my Instagram.
Christmas in Seville, 2017
Just a Jewish girl sightseeing in Europe around Christmas time liiiiiike πThis illustration inspired by being trapped inside a real-life huge ornament during an electronic Christmas music lights show in Seville.
London, New Year's Eve 2018
Due to poor planning and taking forever to get ready, my friend and I found ourselves turned away from a bar at 11:47pm on New Year's Eve. But did you know that London is full of bridges? Yeah, and you can watch fireworks from them *in real life* without having to buy a drink and watch them on tv. So we speed-walked to the closest bridge and watched the year change from above the Thames. It was freezing outside, but our hearts were as warm as British tea.
Ireland, January 2018
* Travel Tip! * When you're on an Irish bus tour, do not ask your tour guide why some sheep have different colored spots on their butts. The guide *will* use the phrase, "When the ram makes love to the ewe--" many times, and you will wish it had just stayed a quirky lil mystery.
Ferrol, February 2018
Choosing to see my school year being half over as a glass-half-full over glass-half-empty situation. "Half full of what?" you ask. But mostly just churros, to be honest.
Ferrol, February 2018
Croissant scarf in honor of all the times we get so many croissant crumbs in our scarves that we may as well be wearing the croissant. Anyone else...?? Just me and the stranger I watched it happen to last week...? .
Ferrol, March 2018
Quick infographic to let everyone know that deciding to read Don Quixote is NOT A JOKE. I made it through 37% before I had to return it to the library, and you guys I knew it was long, but I didn't know it was "going to have to check it out 3 times to finish it" long. Que pena.
Madrid, May 2018
Major life skill acquired this year: being able to pretend I'm at home in whatever transportation I'm in. The level of chill I bring to an 8-hour bus ride is hiiigh, my friends. *Disclaimer* the socks are only to illustrate a point, I don't take my shoes off on planes because that's gross π¬
